Okto Linked Open Data

Okto, a leading community television broadcaster in Austria, is currently working on a multi-publishing strategy to deliver content through the classical way, such as terrestrial broadcasting or via cable, and also through the own online mediathek and via rich content mashups.

Therefore an editorial management and program-planning tool was developed by Oktolab to collaboratively plan the TV program.

Aim of this project is to extent the software to enable content creators to annotate their content semantically, enrich with external data sources and optimize for different channels (online and TV). Therefore the existing software will be analyzed in terms of architecture and functionality. In addition, possible scenarios and use cases will be developed, where linked data applications can create real value. Preferably, open data sources will be used. As result, mockups and recommendations will outline the future system in its design and functional dimensions.

This project will be realized in collaboration with the Austrian Institute of Media Economy
