Daytime sleepiness poses a special risk in monitoring tasks. In the framework of this project AlertnessControl, a system will be developed and installed prototypically. The system on one hand measures the actual level of concentration in few minutes and on the other hand delivers an individual recommendation with respect to attention enhancing measures to be taken.

To enhance attention: activating (light, active break-time) as well as deactivating (napping, deep relaxation) methods are used. The effectiveness of the tools (measurement of attention), the activating and deactivating measures will be evaluated using physiological unaware influenceable measurement methods (Pupillographic sleepiness test, Pupillography F2D2).

The project is funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) within the program called „Verkehrsinfrastrukturforschung VIF2014“ of The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).
